Sunday Smorgasbord 2!

Hi everyone!
I'm linking up with Fabulous in First again this week for Sunday Smorgasbord!

This week I actually took a break from going into my classroom. The custodians needed some time to clean my carpet and tile, so I decided to let them ;) In the meantime, I've been shopping and preparing and gathering and crafting things for my room! Here is some randomness from this last week:

These photo frames were 70% off at Joann's! I thought they would make a cute display for classroom rules or something for someone's beach theme classroom!

Sam's Club has these rugs for about $20. They are SO cute!! If I didn't already have a rug in my classroom I'd definitely pick one of these up! I also saw some of these same rugs at Big Lots for about $16.

Look at these sad boys! They are saying "Mom, get of Pinterest and take us outside!"

I've actually been on a MAJOR HUNT for the elusive light blue caddy to complete my tropical brights color scheme... I found the pink, yellow, and lime green at Michaels, but they are missing the light blue! I've been checking for MONTHS and they have only been getting the darker blue. I took my search online and found this one at Mardel.com:
Looks perfect, right?? So I ordered it... it's actually a DARK TURQUOISE. Like... teal. I guess they always say that colors can vary, but this was really different! I like the teal and I'll probably use it somehow, but I still need my light blue. I finally gave up and ordered the set of three from ReallyGoodStuff, it was a little more than I wanted to spend but I was able to pick up a few other things I was wanting. Also, I can stop obsessing about the light blue caddy. Ha! Here are my ReallyGoodStuff purchases:

I saw this poster in a friend's classroom and I love it! I think it's a cute and perfect way to help kids with b and d reversals. I usually try to draw a little bed for them, but this will be a nice supplement for my little doodles.

And of course, the neon caddies for just the blue! I wish I could order them separately, but I guess it's always good to have extras!

In other news, since this is the Smorgasbord, I spent some time this week updating my TeachersPayTeachers files. I updated my schedule cards for this year and I also added numbers to my number posters from a request.

On Monday and Tuesday I'm going to a WA Kids training... I'm curious if anyone else out there is a State-funded full-day kindergarten teacher in Washington... this will be my first year doing WA Kids and I'm interested to see how other teachers do it! I'll be back in my classroom Wednesday, so I'll post some more pictures and ideas then!
I'm going to leave you with this Alphabet song... my mom used to play the cassette tape in the car and I still remember it! I know what I'll be playing on repeat for my students (ha!)

  1. Don't you just hate when you are missing just ONE color of something? It's so frustrating. I use pink, orange, yellow, light green, light blue, and lavender in my room. Trying to find six colors is almost impossible.
