Five for Friday!

Hi everyone!
What a week! I've been in teacher trainings the last TWO weeks! Phew! I just got done with our Kindergarten Institute--I'm really excited for what's coming our way this year! Kindergarten is totally changing in our district and I feel like they are doing a great job coordinating things and providing lots of supports for us as teachers to reach the superintendent's goal of 95% of students at or above grade level.
I wanted to link up today with Doodle Bug's Five for Friday link party!

1. Kindergarten Institute - This is where I was "hanging out" all week! I was lucky enough to hear Cathy Feldman from REACH Associates lead our institute. She's one of the best professional development speakers I've seen and she's so good at demonstrating and modeling what things would actually look like in a K classroom. I'm excited to try out some of her tips!

2. Meet the Teacher Night - IS NEXT WEEK! AHHH!! Where did the summer go?? I know a lot of teachers out there have already been in school for WEEKS, but I SO don't feel ready yet! Our team was thinking of things to give out on Meet the Teacher night and I think we came up with using this idea:
"Thank you for "Popping" in!" with some popcorn. We also wanted to do a little treat for the kids on the first day of school, but we're still deciding on that! Here's a cute popcorn label I found:

3.  S'mores fudge bars:
Need I say more?

4. eBay! I scored this awesome lot of big books! I'm still watching a few other listings! Gotta beef up that big book library!!
I was also able to nab some other big books (including one of my personal favorites... Jump Frog, Jump!) from Craigslist! Woo hoo!!

5. Making 10 Activity - I found this on Pinterest and thought it was super cute! I actually have a ton of these colored clothespins (I found them at TJMaxx for $3.50 on clearance, for a whole bunch of them!) so this will be a great activity to use them!

That's it from me today! I was thinking I would take the weekend off and relax... but the more I think about it, the more I feel like I have so much to do!! I'll probably go in this weekend because next weekend I'm going to PAX... it's a convention similar to Comic Con... for nerds. I'm SUPER EXCITED THOUGH!!!! I'm actually going to be helping out at a board game booth! Anyone else going? Ha!
